The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is the Sacrament where a baptised Catholic confirms for themselves vows that were made on their behalf when they are were baptised.  The next Sacrament will be taking place on Wednesday 8th May 2024 at 7pm - info on preparatory sessions will be available soon.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance or Confession) is the Sacrament where sins are confessed and absolution is sought.  Every time we sin, we hurt ourselves, other people and God.  Through this Sacrament, we acknowledge our sins before God and the Church.  We express sorrow in a meaningful way, receive the forgiveness of Christ, make reparation for what we have done and resolve to do better in the future.

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

Also known as the Sacrament of Last Rites, this is a healing Sacrament.  Given to a person who is near death, the priest will anoint them with blessed oil and lays his hands on them for healing, strength, peace and courage.  This Sacrament also forgives sins if the person is not able to go to confession.

The Sacrament of Matrimony

The Sacrament of Matrimony unites a man and a woman together as husband and wife.  It gives them a special grace to live for Jesus and to fulfil the duties and dignities of marriage.
